Mathematical Lineage

I had two Ph.D. advisors; I am one of the twelve descendants of Herbert W. Hethcote and one of the 5 descendants of James Mac Hyman. Interestingly, the practice of having two advisors was fairly common in the 19th century. Some of the famous mathematicians in my lineage include Lagrange, Euler, Poisson, Fourier, Bernoulli, Dirichlet, Lipschitz, Hilbert, Klein, and more.
