Info for Students
Los Alamos National Lab has a vigorous student program. Internships at LANL are excellent opportunities to gain experience in a professional environment. You can search for available opportunities at the lab's job site
The Department of Energy supports internships for undergraduates through the Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI) program. There are options for a summer internship, or for an entire spring or fall semester. Other undergraduate opportunities are available through the Community College Internships program.
The Department of Energy also supports internships for graduate students through the Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) program. Opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students are available through NNSA's Minority Serving Institution Internship program.
The Center for Earth and Space Sciences (CSES) supports LANL-University collaborations through an annual proposal call. These projects require a university PI and a LANL PI, and often support a student for an extended internship at LANL.
The Center for Nonlinear Studies (CNLS) is part of the lab's Theoretical Division, and has a vigorous student internship program. CNLS provides a stimulating and supportive working environment.
And finally, the SARRA program at LANL provides internship opportunities for students of the Service Academies and ROTC.
