Bjorn Clausen

Research Experience and Interests

Dr. Clausen has been Instrument Scientist for SMARTS, the engineering neutron diffraction instrument at the Lujan Center at LANSCE, for more than a decade. His research interests are focused on determining structure-property relationship for LANL mission relevant materials and composites via constitutive modeling and experimental validation. His experience includes development of self-consistent crystal plasticity based polycrystal deformation models, finite element modeling, mechanical testing, in-situ neutron and synchrotron X-ray diffraction measurements of phase fractions, strains, dislocation densities and texture.
