About Los Alamos

Picture of Los Alamos The picturesque and mountainous town of Los Alamos is a small community of about 18,000 nestled against the Jemez Mountains at an altitude of over 7,000 feet. Los Alamos County typically has mild weather year-round and an ideal climate for outdoor recreation, with ample hiking and camping opportunities all year, and the Pajarito Ski Area less then 10 miles from town.
