350,000 Joule Capacitor Bank

Bank Info

The above capacitor bank stores 350,000 joules of energy when it is charged to 5000 volts. For reference, a .44 magnum slug has about 1,000 joules of energy as it is exiting the barell. When we fire the bank at full charge it has the same energy as 350 .44 magnums firing simultaneously! Magnetic fields in excess of 50 tesla are reached as the electrical current reaches a peak of approximately 13,000 amps. Our magnet and transmission lines would vaporize if that current persisted for 1 or 2 seconds.
