FIELD WORK AND SEA EXPERIENCE:
August 2000 - May 2001: Installed
and analyzed data from broadband and short-period seismometers at the Nevada
Test Site. Required short turnaround time from data retrieval to data analysis
and reporting.
May 1999 - August 1999: Deployed a series of IRIS-PASSCAL RefTeks on the University
of California, Santa Cruz campus as part of a site amplification study.
April 1997 - October 1998: Chief Scientist/Co-Chief Scientist on the R. V.
Point Lobos/ROV Ventana and R. V. Western Flyer/ROV Tiburon cruises
in Monterey Bay to perform seismicity studies using corehole seismometers developed
at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (16 day and week long cruises).
April - May 1994 (35 days): Scientist on research cruise aboard the R. V.
Maurice Ewing to collect seismic refraction data at the Clipperton Transform
Zone along the East Pacific Rise. Responsible for processing and plotting Hydrosweep
bathymetric data during the experiment.
September 1991 (8 days): Scientist on research cruise aboard the R. V. Atlantis
II to obtain seismicity data at hydrothermal vents of the Endeavour Segment,
Juan de Fuca Ridge. Assisted in maintaining, deploying, and retrieving ocean-bottom
seismometers.
July of 1991 - 1994, 1996: Associate Instructor for University of California,
Davis, Geology Department summer field course (geophysics section). Acquired
gravity, magnetic, electrical resistivity, and seismic refraction data on select
areas of the resurgent dome of the Long Valley Caldera, California.
