Education:
Ph. D. In Nuclear Physics, from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel.
Research Experience:
Extensive experience with neutron and particle measurements and Monte Carlo simulation
for basic and applied science and technology.
Developed the "Neutron
Clock" that is widely used in basic research with Heavy-Ion reactions to determine
the duration of the fission process.
Conceived and developed advanced
neutron detectors for medium-energy neutron imaging.
Developed High-Energy Neutron
Radiography for Science Based Stockpile Stewardship.
Developed the SUPERHET
code, a superset of LAHET, that extends to
higher energies, includes photon and electron transport using EGS4, and calculates scintillator neutron
detection efficiencies.
Positions I had:
Deputy Group Leader of P-17, Neutron and Nuclear Science, that operated and performed research at WNR, the LANSCE-based Weapons Neutron Research facility.
Group Leader of NIS-5, Safeguards Science and Technology, Non-Proliferation and International Security division.
Acting Non-Proliferation and International Security Deputy Division Director.
Special Assistant to Dr. William H. Press, (then) Deputy Director for Science and Technology.
Science and Technology Advisor to the Bureau of Verification and Compliance in the State Department, working for Assistant Secretary Paula DeSutter.
